My personal treatment philosophy is to connect with clients through empathy, authenticity, and nonjudgmental so they can feel safe and trust me with their innermost hurts, struggles, hopes, and dreams. I believe in meeting clients where they are and in creating a friendly collaborative therapeutic relationship. I provide clients with gentle guidance and my compassionate support while using my therapeutic expertise, education, and skilled insight to help them with their needs and goals.  When client have willingness to learn,  attend sessions, and give their best effort together we work a plan to accomplishing their unique treatment goals.

As the various types of health are interdependent, I feel that a holistic approach to care is critical to one’s well being. Fittingly, the therapeutic models that resonate most with me are integrative and humanistic; oftentimes including techniques from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed by the challenges and demands of modern life, are overly anxious, depressed, interested in healing their relationships, female adolescents ages 14-19, neurotypical partners of those on the Autism Spectrum (formerly Aspergers), parents of challenging children, considering career changes, and/or in exploring their spirituality are all of special interest to me.

I worked in various roles in information technology (e.g., business intelligence analyst) before I determined that a career change would better align with my life’s purpose. I decided to go back to school for a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology and Professional Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. Since graduating in 2013, I have worked in both community mental health as well as in private practice.

I live in Leesburg, VA with my husband, two teenage sons, and two dogs. In my down time, I enjoy sewing, binge-watching shows, the sunshine, and taking walks in nature.
