Office Manager

Full-Time, based in Northern Virginia

Sunstone Counseling is seeking an Office Manager to organize and coordinate office administration and procedures to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly, maintaining office systems, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness throughout the office. Sunstone Counseling has multiple office locations in Falls Church, McLean, Alexandria, Loudoun County and Richmond. Position based out of Northern Virginia- with a few day trips to Richmond as needed.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Lead opening activities for Loudoun & Richmond offices (ex. ordering office furniture, meeting service providers) Primary initial responsibility in 2021
  • Managing health and safety (related to Covid) protocol
  • Tracking and Coordinating EAP programs 
  • Maintain staff calendars and send reminders (recurring group meeting)
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with / for co-owners
  • Prepare communication, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
  • Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents
  • Create and maintain filing system of resource database for staff
  • Promoting company culture through organizing office celebrations and quarterly gatherings
  • Maintain organization and ordering of office supplies
  • Collect and distribute mail at all offices
  • Maintain company’s professional memberships
  • Help with administration and response to client feedback
  • Supervising undergraduate students or any additional admin support 
  • Respond to counselor office supply request
  • Manage organization and storage of promotional materials
  • Coordinating office onboarding for new counselors and any off-boarding of counselors (keys, instructions on opening/closing of offices)

Qualifications/Requirements include:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Working knowledge of mental health related fields
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Smartsheets, Monday.com
  • Working knowledge of  Zoom and Google Calendar
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Sunstone Counseling seeks to hire a motivated, collaborative individual for the position of graduate counseling intern to provide virtual mental health counseling services for any of the following: individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and/or adults, averaging 10-15 clients per week. An optimal candidate will bring a diverse perspective to our team and be passionate about responding to the unique mental health needs in our communities. An ideal candidate is organized, professional, committed to continuing education, client-focused, friendly, motivated, works well with others, and can work independently. A candidate would appreciate a warm, energetic, and collaborative work environment.

  • Conduct virtual counseling 55-min sessions
  • Completing all clinical documentation

An ideal candidate will live in Richmond. 

Sunstone Counseling seeks to hire a motivated, collaborative individual for the position of clinical supervisor to provide virtual supervision to residents and interns and to conduct virtual mental health counseling services for any of the following: individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and/or adults, averaging 10-25 clients per week. An optimal candidate will bring a diverse perspective to our team and be passionate about responding to the unique mental health needs in our communities. An ideal candidate is organized, professional, committed to continuing education, client-focused, friendly, motivated, works well with others, and can work independently. Job Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of Sunstone Counselors in Residence and Graduate Counseling Interns 
  • Filling out all necessary paperwork with the supervisee
  • Assist with mandatory reporting when needed
  • Meeting with each supervisee at a minimum of once a week to provide clinical support and feedback
  • Working with supervisees to develop and maintain diagnostic assessments and treatment plans 
  • Teach and review clinical notes
  • Attend monthly peer supervision meetings and weekly peer groups.

Our McLean office focuses on providing counseling services for children, adolescents, and their families, in addition to general practice.

Desired Intern, Resident, and Supervisee in Social Work Qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in careers and life transitions (with adolescents and young adults).
  • Experience or specific interest in working with adolescents (sand tray, art therapy, expressive arts, movement, and mindfulness-based approaches).
  • Experience or training treating OCD in adolescents with CBT/DBT structured approaches.
  • Confident and competent counselors interested in working with parents of minors, with a special interest in co-parenting and family work.

Falls Church

Our Falls Church office focuses on couples and group work, as well as general practice working with adults.

Desired Intern, Resident, and Supervisee in Social Work Qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in careers and life transitions (adults).
  • Experience or interest in working with couples. Certification in Imago, EFT, Gottman, or other specialized couples training preferred for residents and supervisees.
  • Experience or interest in grief work, substance abuse, and trauma. EMDR training preferred.
  • Experience facilitating groups, workshops, and retreats.

Old Town Alexandria

Our Old Town office focuses on couples and group work, as well as general practice working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
