Type of Therapy: Christian Counseling

Laura Moon, LPC, NCC, CTP

My specialty areas include, but are not limited to: trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I believe cognitions influence behavior, and early childhood events can shape how one views themselves, others, and the world. This results in learned patterns of thinking and behavior that can be brought to awareness with counseling. I am certified to work with couples as a SYMBIS and Gottman Level 1 clinician by focusing on communication/conflict resolution skills while restoring friendship and trust in the relationship. I can integrate Christian counseling for those who are interested in incorporating faith in their treatment.

I offer a holistic approach to working with adolescents, adults, and couples dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, spirituality, relationship challenges, infertility and postpartum stress, and boundary issues. I have previous experience as a crisis counselor for high-risk adolescents and their families, addressing areas such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, school avoidance, and peer and/or parental conflict.

I recognize the undue mental health burden plaguing today’s women. My support for adolescent and adult women includes anxiety and depression, perinatal mental health, relationship and intimacy issues, life transitions and adjustment, and infertility and/or infant loss. I desire to create a space where you can be authentic and assured that your vulnerability will be engaged with the utmost respect.
